Baptism

Our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ met with His disciples before returning to heaven and said, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Until Christ returns believers are all to be baptized and involved in making disciples.

Baptism, first and foremost, is identification with Jesus Christ. It is publicly and openly identifying with this One Who died for my sins and rose again. It is a symbol of the believer’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. Baptisms at Southwest include personal testimony to faith in Jesus Christ.
