Pastoral Staff - Carl Stubblefield

Carl Stubblefield
Associate Pastor

Carl began working at Southwest Bible Church in 1995 as a part-time bookkeeper while he was a seminary student. In July 2001, he was called to be a full-time Associate Pastor at Southwest, where he oversees various items such as athletics ministries, bookkeeping and the church websites. He also manages the staff of the church office and coordinates all of the office technology systems (phone lines, computers, etc.).

Through the counsel of friends, Carl signed up for Multnomah Biblical Seminary's Graduate Certificate program. After completing the one-year program, he enrolled for two more years of seminary training to earn his Master of Divinity.

Carl attended University of Oregon, where he met his wife, Rose, and double majored in Business with Management and Marketing degrees. God also used these four years to equip Carl through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ--Carl led Bible studies, shared his faith, discipled fellow students and went on a short-term mission trip to Poland with Athletes in Action.

Carl was adopted as a baby, but it was the college application process that originally prompted him to look into spiritual matters. He was concerned colleges would think he wasn't well-rounded enough without any religious affiliation. So he went to church youth group meetings with a friend. Carl learned more about Christ and realized what the Bible said about Jesus was true, and he placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was adopted again--this time into God's family.

Carl enjoys sports of all kinds but mainly playing basketball, Ultimate Frisbee and volleyball, and following college football (Go Ducks!), major-league baseball (Go Astros!) and football (Go Bengals!). The Lord has blessed the Stubblefields with four children: Sarah, Chase, Cam and Rilla.
